Petrography can be a powerful tool for tackling the tough questions about any material issues in your construction projects. Using investigative techniques, petrography can help identify any material defects, construction related issues, aggregate issues, application issues, as well identification of unknown materials.
In this webinar, Braun Intertec senior petrographer Aisyah Abdkahar , PG, will introduce you to petrography and discuss case studies from several projects. We will mainly focus on concrete petrography, but mortar and aggregates will be discussed as well.

Aisyah Abdkahar, PG
Senior Petrographer
Aisyah Abdkahar, PG, spent the early years of her career traversing North America in the hard rock mining and exploration sector. Her field and analytical experience has been uniquely applied into the concrete and aggregates industry where she has been working as a petrographer. She is well versed in various petrographic and analytical techniques and is experienced in evaluating concrete, aggregates, mortar and various other materials. Aisyah recently joined Braun Intertec in 2021 and now manages the petrography laboratory. She holds a B.S. in Geology from the University of Manitoba in Canada and is a licensed professional geologist in the state of Georgia. Aisyah is currently an active member on several ASTM sub-committees.
