Our deep understanding of rail activities and engineering principles allows us to provide technically sound, common sense, and cost effective solutions.
We give back to our profession by being actively involved in the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and are intimately familiar with the AREMA Manual of Railway Engineering as well as individual railroad requirements.

Meet Our Heavy Rail Leader
Scott Mackiewicz
Vice President
Scott Mackiewicz is a Vice President and leader of the Braun Intertec national Heavy Rail group. Scott’s team provides expertengineeringand construction management services to Class 1 and short line railroads across the western portion of the United States, all the way from Illinois to Montana and Canada to Mexico. This focused Heavy Rail group understands the needs and unique safety requirements of railroads and provides conventional design as well as on-call emergency response services.
Scott’s experience in Heavy Rail dates back to the 1990’s, working on several different rail projects across the country. He is passionate about the industry and enjoys designing a project and seeing it get constructed in a timely fashion.
